Swimming
LEARN TO SWIM
Rec-Plex swim classes are available for people of all ages, from young children to adults. Learn how to be safe in and around the water, and gain skills that can help you develop as a swimmer. Our Infant & Preschool Aquatics Program for ages 6 months to 5 years works to get children used to the water and
to educate parents about water safety. (It is not designed to teach
children to become good swimmers or to survive in the water on their
own.) Our Learn-to-Swim program for ages 5 and up further develop your child's swimming skills.
COMPETITIVE SWIMMING
The Rec-Plex Sharks U.S.A.
Swim Team is the area's premier swimming team in the area's premier
indoor swimming facility. Affiliated with United States Swimming, the
Sharks stress technique and skill to ensure you improve as a swimmer.
Sharks swimmers have opportunities to compete in meets around the

OUTDOOR SWIM TEAMS
St. Peters offers outdoor swim
teams for ages 6-18 when Laurel Park Pool opens in the summer. Teams
compete in weekly meets against other teams in the St. Charles County
Summer Swim League. LEARN MORE.
PLEASE NOTE: Only City of St. Peters employees are allowed to conduct instruction/lessons at any of St. Peters' pools.
DIAPER POLICY: The Rec-Plex and St. Peters' outdoor pools require children
wearing diapers to wear a special aquatic diaper and/or plastic swim
trunks. Swim diapers are sold at the Rec-Plex front desk.

Diving
DIVING FACILITIES
When it comes to diving, the Rec-Plex Natatorium
is one of the nation's premier facilities, regularly hosting area and
regional diving events plus serving as host to such prestigious events
as the nationally televised 2004 U.S. Olympic Diving-Team Trials, 2000
U.S.A. Olympic Diving Team Tour, the 1999 U.S. Diving West National
Championships and 1994 U.S. Olympic Festival.
PUBLIC HOURS
The 1-meter springboard and 3-meter diving platform are open to the public at various times, unless closed for an event. CHECK THE REC-PLEX CALENDAR FOR PUBLIC DIVING HOURS.

Ice Skating
ICE SKATING CLASSES
Ice skating is a fun and exciting way to exercise, and the Rec-Plex
is a great place to lace up and learn. Our instructors will teach you
skills developed by the Ice Skating Institute (ISI), a leading national
ice industry trade association. Learn to skate or improve on your
existing skills. Students even have the opportunity to perform during
Rec-Plex ice shows. We have classes for all ages and a
variety of skill levels. All classes are 30 minutes, and we’ll provide
skates if you need them. Classes meet at the Rec-Plex North Ice Arena,
unless your class description says otherwise.
SYNCHRONIZED SKATING
Synchronized skating classes
teach you the thrill of skating with a team and moving on the ice to
music. We emphasize posture, presentation, keeping time to music, and
performance. Each team works toward performing in skating competitions.
ST. PETERS FIGURE SKATING ASSOCIATION
The Rec-Plex is the home rink for the St. Peters Figure Skating Association. LEARN MORE ABOUT THE FIGURE SKATING ASSOCIATION.
ICE SKATING EXHIBITIONS
The Ice Shows performed by students in the Rec-Plex skating school have become some of the City of St. Peters' more popular events. The Rec-Plex typically hosts a Winter Wonderland on Ice Show in December and a Spring Ice Show in May. CHECK THE CITY OF ST. PETERS CALENDAR for upcoming City events.

FREESTYLE FIGURE SKATING PRACTICE SESSIONS
Freestyle practice sessions are available for figure skaters who are practicing advanced skating skills. There is a fee and maximum attendance of 25 skaters per session. PUBLIC ICE SKATING SESSIONS
The Rec-Plex offers regular ice skating sessions for customers at no additional charge. CHECK THE REC-PLEX CALENDAR for public ice skating hours and special DJ Skate family events on Friday nights.

Hockey Skills
BUILD HOCKEY SKILLS WITH THE REC-PLEX & ST. PETERS SPIRIT
Hockey is a fun sport that requires a strong foundation in skating. The St. Peters Rec-Plex has partnered with the St. Peters Spirit hockey club to give youth in our area a chance to build their skills from skating to beginning hockey to club play.
Your child can learn to skate at the Rec-Plex and progress to play hockey with the St. Peters Spirit organization.
The Rec-Plex is home to the St. Peters Spirit, a not for
profit youth ice hockey organization serving the community of St.
Charles County and a registered member of USA Hockey Inc. and Missouri

ADULT DROP-IN HOCKEY
The Rec-Plex offers Adult Drop-in Hockey Sessions for ages 18 and up at the Rec-Plex north rink. A maximum of 26 players and two goalies are allowed for each session. Full equipment with at least a half shield on the helmet is required.

STICK & PUCK
Hockey skaters can try Stick & Puck sessions to improve their skills. A maximum of 26 skaters and four goalies are allowed per session. Skaters must wear skates, gloves and a helmet. Age 17 and under must wear full shield or facemask. Adults 18+ must wear at least a half shield. Stick & Puck sessions are available for two age groups: 12 & under, and 13 & up. NOTE: Students in private lessons with a Rec-Plex coach may override age requirements.

The St. Peters Rec-Plex offers a variety of group fitness classes for all ages to help you get fit and healthy, including:
GROUP AEROBICS
- Group Aerobics fitness classes are FREE to Rec-Plex passholders, otherwise $40/month or $8/visit. Class offerings vary month-to-month.

REC-PLEX XTREME (RPX) CYCLING
- Experience the high energy and excitement of Rec-Plex Xtreme Cycling.

- Fitness Assessments (1-mile walk/run test, blood pressure, flexibility, body fat composition, brief consultation with personal trainer)

Aqua Aerobics
Aqua aerobics is an excellent way to maintain fitness without the stress to your joints that land-based exercise can produce. Each Rec-Plex class consists of stretching, aerobic exercise, muscle strengthening and a cool-down period.

Rec-Plex Class Registration Options
REGISTER ONLINE USING REC-CONNECT! Online registration is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
REGISTRATION DESK HOURS: The registration desk is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-7 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The desk is closed on Sundays, and also on City Holidays. If the City holiday is on a Friday, the desk will also be closed the following day, Saturday. CHECK THE ONLINE CALENDAR FOR ALL THE LATEST HOURS.
IN-PERSON REGISTRATION: The St. Peters Rec-Plex is located at 5200 Mexico Rd. See Registration Desk Hours above. We accept cash, checks, MasterCard, Visa and Discover.
OVER THE PHONE: Call us at 636-939-2386, ext. 1400, during open Registration Desk Hours (see above). Pick up your program registration receipt at the Rec-Plex prior to the program's beginning date. We accept MasterCard, Visa and Discover over the phone.
REFUND POLICY:
Requests for refunds are accepted*:
- If a program is cancelled by the City of St. Peters and not rescheduled. Program may be cancelled if a minimum number of students are not registered.
- If a refund is requested a minimum of 5 days prior to the beginning for the Program
- If a medical condition prohibits participation and request is made a minimum of 5 days before the activity begins. Written support documentation from a doctor may be requested.
A processing fee of $10 applies to each class refund request not initiated by the City of St. Peters.
THERE ARE NO MAKE-UPS OR CREDITS FOR MISSED CLASSES.
*Refunds are given only with the approval of the program supervisor. Refund requests should be made through the Registration Desk staff.
As a condition of use of any City of St. Peters Parks and Recreation facility or participation in any program, sports league, class, recreation or fitness activity, you agree as a participant or parent/guardian of a participant in the program, to assume all risks and hazards of engaging in or spectating at any city activity or facility, including assuming all risks for personal injury, death and property damage. You further agree to hold harmless the City of St. Peters, its staff, instructors, volunteers, officials, sponsors, partners or representatives from liability for any losses, damages or injuries that may occur in any way as a result of these activities or facility uses – regardless of cause.
As a participant or parent/guardian of a participant, you may choose not to accept the City of St. Peters liability waivers at which time you may withdraw from the registration without incurring a cancellation fee. Such withdrawals must be in writing and received within 24 hours of registering. Emails must be sent to rec-connect@stpetersmo.net.
