SAVE A TREE: Shred It & Forget It

Mobile shredders will be available at the spring Shred It & Forget It event for St. Peters and Cottleville residents to securely destroy and recycle unneeded documents for free (limit of five banker-size boxes per vehicle). Additional boxes can be shredded at a charge of $5 per box. Non-residents can also recycle documents for a fee of $5 per box, cash only. All of the shredded material will be recycled including the cardboard boxes if they are not needed back.

Do not bring computer discs or hanging file rods. If you can tear it, then you can shred it using this service. The documents may contain staples or paper clips.

A current Resident Privilege Card must be presented to receive the free service. St. Peters Resident Privilege Cards can be obtained at City Hall, the Rec-Plex and Recycle City.

PLANT A TREE: Annual Tree Giveaway / Celebrate Arbor Day!

While you’re saving trees by dropping off your paper for recycling, why not pick up a tree seedling to plant? Celebrate Arbor Day 2019 with the City of St. Peters’ Parks, Recreation and Arts Advisory Board by picking up your free Bald Cypress, Redbud and/or Gray Dogwood tree seedling with planting instructions, plus learn more about keeping your trees healthy.

St. Peters residents, be sure to bring your Resident Privilege Card with you to the HES Operations Building so that you can take advantage of the tree giveaway during the early time between 9-10 a.m. After 10 a.m., trees will be given out to everyone (including non-residents) on a first-come, first-served basis.
