In order to stay safe and still support local restaurants this past year, we've ordered more and more take-out and delivery. One thing we could all do to eliminate single-use plastic waste is let our restaurants know when we don't need any utensils, condiment packets, straws, or napkins. Plastic cutlery cannot be recycled because it's too small, lightweight, and contaminated. Tens of billions of plastic utensils are wasted each year. Many of us don't need them because we prefer our own forks, spoons and knives. So, to reduce this single-use plastic waste:
- Restaurants, please ask whether customers want utensils, straws, or condiments with their orders.
- Customers, please tell restaurants when you don't need these single-use plastic items.
SAY "NO THANKS" TO PLASTIC WASTE!
