Kelly Pettis Tabata Workout


Looking for ways to stay in shape at home until the Rec-Plex reopens? Follow along with this SPTV-produced workout video featuring Recreation Leader Kelly Pettis, as she guides you through a high-intensity Tabata training regimen!


Tabata is a workout program that aims to improve cardiovascular and muscular systems. The idea is to push yourself as hard as you can in short spurts, making it a great way to improve endurance and speed without taking up too much time.


Here’s the video to show you how to perform each exercise, followed by instructions so that you can repeat this Tabata routine anytime:



3 Sets, 5 Exercises per set

20 seconds per exercise, 10-second rest between exercises

1 minute rest between sets 


Set One:

1. Lunge, Squat, Lunge

2. Jumping Jacks

3. "Ten and Two"

4. Mountain Climbers

5. Sit-Ups


Set Two:

1. Big Jump, Shuffle Back

2. Inch Worm Walkouts with  Push-Up

3. Speed Skaters

4. Plank with Shoulder Tap

5. Squat with Elbow to Knee


Set Three:

1. Jump Rope

2. Shuffle to Shoot the Free Throw

3. Star Jumps

4. Skis

5. Chest Jumping Jacks
