The St. Peters Rec-Plex is closed until further notice, so you may be looking for ways to stay active while at home. While you may not be able to visit the Rec-Plex in person, we want to stay in touch with our loyal members so that everyone stays on track of a healthy lifestyle throughout the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic.
In order to keep in touch with our community, Rec-Plex fitness instructor Karen Sullivan put together an easy-to-follow home fitness routine on video for active older adults. That way, you can keep active until the Rec-Plex facilities re-open, and it's all within the comfort of your own home.
The home fitness routine focuses on balancing exercises. Karen goes through several warm-ups to get you started, then covers each balancing exercise in detail. You get to follow along at your own pace while still having a personal trainer keeping you engaged and active.
“I hope these exercises will help you keep your strength, balance, and coordination so that when you get back to the Rec-Plex, you’ll be able to pick up where you left off,” Karen said. “We look forward to seeing you.”
