Effective immediately, the St. Peters Rec-Plex and Cultural Arts Centre will shut down all operations through Friday, April 3, 2020, per the Emergency Declaration by St. Charles County to help stop the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
St. Charles County Executive Steve Ehlmann issued the following Emergency Declaration on March 17: “It shall be unlawful for any person to organize or attend a gathering of 50 people or more in a single indoor space or enclosure for recreational, social or entertainment purpose.”
St. Peters Mayor Len Pagano said: “We must follow the Emergency Declaration from the County Executive. The Rec-Plex and Arts Centre routinely have more than 50 people present, including members and guests visiting exhibits at the Arts Centre or using the fitness equipment, taking classes, swimming, skating, Pickleball and others, along with our dedicated staff. Therefore, we must follow the law and close the Rec-Plex and Arts Centre until at least April 3, 2020, per the Emergency Declaration.”
Pagano added, “We appreciate everyone’s consideration and support at this difficult time, and we are working with all our local and state officials to protect the health and safety of our residents, businesses, guests and City staff. All of us, working together, can help get through this crisis quickly and be ready to go when we’re past this situation.”
