In May 2018, St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre hosted a “Pen and Paint” Art Exhibit where the written word was transformed into art. The exhibit is back, only it’s called “Paint and Pen,” and this time the writers will be interpreting the artists’ work.
Local artists submitted 17 paintings that will be displayed along with interpretations from local writers in the “Paint and Pen” exhibit, which will be on display Oct. 18-Dec. 9, 2018, at the Cultural Arts Centre.
"This is a community effort to bring writers and artists together," said Cindy DuBois, Cultural Arts Centre Leader. “I’m hoping this is the kickstart of something that will continue to evolve.”
The first “Pen and Paint” exhibit included 10 written entries from members of the Saturday Writers Group, which were then interpreted by artists from the Oak Leaf Artist Guild to create 10 individual works of art. This time, the “Paint and Pen” exhibit was opened up to writers and artists from outside those groups to include more members of the local art community.
The St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre is in the west wing of St. Peters City Hall at One St. Peters Centre Blvd., St. Peters, MO.
