Take a trip down to wine country and visit Missouri’s “oldest town” on the Ste. Genevieve Bus Tour with the St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre on Thursday, April 26, 2018.
Check out Ste. Genevieve Visitors’ Center before taking a tour of the Philipson-Valle House. Built in 1818, the building features an authentically restocked mercantile store of an historic trading firm. The family’s living quarters display early empire furnishings, with original mantels and trim. A generous and delicious family-style lunch at the Ste. Genevieve Cafe will consist of fried chicken, kettle beef, salad, potatoes and gravy, vegetables, rolls, beverages and apple crisp.
After lunch visit the beautiful and historic Church of St. Genevieve and drive down St. Mary’s Road to view rare, vertical-timber French dwellings. After a gorgeous drive through the rolling countryside, enjoy wine tasting on your own at Chaumette Winery, and then an official wine tasting at Crown Valley Winery. The views and ambience at these two wineries cannot be topped.
The bus departs from the west parking lot of St. Peters City Hall, One St. Peters Centre Blvd., at 9 a.m. and returns at approximately 6 p.m. This tour involves quite a bit of walking, but mostly at your leisure. The cost is $92 and includes transportation, lunch, admissions, gratuities, and Crown Valley wine tasting.
