The City of St. Peters is proud to welcome Amazon to our area, creating an initial 1,500 jobs at their new 855,080 sq. ft. fulfillment center in the Premier 370 development. The new Amazon facility will be completed in the fall of 2019 and is the latest project to be built in the Premier 370 development in the last 18 months. With the completion of the Amazon project, more than 2,800 jobs and 2.7 million sq. ft. of commercial space will have been built in the Premier 370 development.
"All of us in St. Peters are excited to welcome Amazon to 'My Hometown' and we're looking forward to them joining the St. Peters family with 1,500 jobs for our region's well-trained workforce," said St. Peters Mayor Len Pagano. "With Amazon's tremendous investment in our region and our commitment to facilitating quality economic development projects with our "FasTrac" process we believe this will be one of their most successful projects-ever."
The City's FasTrac process is the catalyst for St. Peters' effective economic development efforts, with the goal of speeding the idea to become reality:
- Pull together experts from all disciplines to assign a team to each development
- Expediting project with "one-stop" permitting process
- Successful track record to keep projects on time and on budget
- City team stays in touch with developer through the process and after the ribbon cutting
"Business is booming in St. Peters and I credit our City staff for all the work they've put in to get these projects on the FasTrac," explained Mayor Pagano. "Our team worked in strong partnership with the great professionals at St. Charles County, County Workforce Development, the EDC, Duke Realty and Ameren to make sure that all the permitting, infrastructure and other needs would be in place to move this project through the process and construction so that Amazon could have their new facility operational in fall 2019. We also had great support from the Missouri Partnership, St. Louis Regional Chamber and Missouri Department of Economic Development to bring Amazon to St. Peters. Because of everyone's teamwork here and the County and State's support we're bringing 1,500 new full-time jobs plus benefits to our region. That's a win for everyone," he added.
Last month, FedEx announced their major project in the Premier 370 development bringing 300 jobs in a 496,209 sq. ft. facility a mile down the road from the new Amazon project. "Our team worked for more than two years to bring this project to fruition," said Mayor Pagano. "They've been putting together all the pieces of these often complicated processes to demonstrate to these developers that St. Peters is THE place to be-that's why Money Magazine named us #15 on their Best Places to Live list and #1 Best Place in Missouri. It's about our quality of life, great workforce and FasTrac. We want to be the number one choice for great employers to bring great jobs to our region," he added. In addition to the Amazon announcement, another development announcement will be made later this week for Premier 370 in St. Peters.
During the last 18 months, Premier 370 Business Park has seen explosive growth adding hundreds of new jobs with more on the way. The location provides easy transportation access for land, air and rail and is located just 15 minutes west of Lambert Airport. The beautiful 370 Lakeside Park provides an amazing "back yard" for the business park with a 140-acre lake, five miles of paved hiking/biking trails, RV campgrounds, archery range, dog park and free concerts and festivals. "Where else can you go on a hike next to a lake, go fishing or take out a kayak over your lunch hour," asked Mayor Pagano. "Our quality of work life is second to none!"
