Road construction on Mexico Road will take place in the westbound lanes at the intersection of Mid Rivers Mall Drive in the coming weeks. Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017, traffic will be reduced to one lane through the intersection, possibly through Sept. 15. The turn lanes will not be affected. The timeline for this work is weather-dependent.
Drivers are asked to use caution while traveling through the intersection.
Construction at the Mexico/Mid Rivers Mall Drive intersection is part of the Mexico Road Resurfacing II improvement project taking place between West Sunny Hill Boulevard and Mid Rivers Mall Drive. The project includes replacement of the existing asphalt pavement surface, removal and replacement of defective concrete pavement, and concrete diamond grinding to improve pavement smoothness. Sidewalks also will be repaired where necessary and improved to meet current ADA standards, and traffic signals will be upgraded.
The City of St. Peters has lowered the speed limit from 40 mph to 25 mph in the construction zone on Mexico Road between West Sunny Hill Boulevard and Mid Rivers Mall Drive due to concerns about construction worker and driver safety. Please drive carefully through all work zones.
