Return Envelopes No Longer Mailed with Utility Bills

Posted Oct. 30, 2023

Beginning in the coming months, the City of St. Peters will no longer include return envelopes with our utility bill mailings. This is the bill that you pay for your waste collection service and, for many residents, your water and/or sewer service.

Why are we eliminating return envelopes with our utility bills?

  • Most people don’t need or use return envelopes. Three out of four City of St. Peters customers pay online, by phone, or other ways besides mail.
  • That means we’re wasting a lot of paper and money. We spend $3,000 per year on return envelopes, and well over $2,000 of that amount is waste.

How can I pay my City of St. Peters utility bill and avoid postage costs?

The City of St. Peters offers many options to pay your utility bill besides through the mail:

  • BillPay online service at www.stpetersmo.net/BillPay.
  • Automatic bank draft.
  • Calling us at 636-477-6600, ext. 1217, or using automated phone payment.
  • Coming in to City Hall, One St. Peters Centre Blvd. (Monday-Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., except on City holidays).
  • Dropping your payment in the drop box outside the West entrance of City Hall.
