Join us for Gaming Camp this summer in in our Gaming Lounge at Rec-Plex North! We will have tournaments and free play with a variety of different games. Campers will also have the opportunity to swim, go ice skating and join in on the special entertainment or field trip at Day Camp!
Learn to Skate Camp

Beginner Skaters come learn to skate! No experience required! Have fun with lessons, on ice games, and fun off ice activities each day. Skater will also learn and practice a skating routine to perform at the end of the week. We provide the skates and all the fun!
Please note: This camp is for the brand new beginner through the Alpha level skater.
Intermediate Skating Camp

Skaters get extra ice time each day to develop skating skills, jumps and spins. Skaters will be introduced to ice dancing, synchronized skating, artistry, and choreography while building up cardio fitness. Skaters will also learn and practice a skating routine to perform at the end of the camp.
Please note: This camp is for the Beta level through Freestyle 2 skater.

Elite Figure Skating Camp

Get a jump on the competition! This camp is packed with exciting and useful training techniques for skaters to use in every day practice and competition. This intensive on and off-ice training program will enhance your skating skills. Freestyles are incorporated into the camp for extra training with your private instructor. Skaters will be divided up based on skating level.
Please note: This camp is for the Freestyle 3 level through Platinum level skater.
Summer Figure Skating Boot Camp

Accelerate your progress with this three-day intensive boot camp! On and off-ice training will get you motivated to tackle your summer skating goals! Skaters will work on jump and spin techniques as well as work on balance and coordination. Skaters will enjoy being challenged all while having fun!
Please note: This camp is for the Delta and above skater.
Rink Rats Summer Hockey Camp

Rink Rats will keep cool and gain extra ice time each day during this camp. We’ll develop agility, balance, speed and teamwork, plus have fun playing different mini-games and drills! Campers will train for their big scrimmage at the end of the camp week.
Please note: Campers must have basic hockey experience, and full equipment is required to participate.
Rink Rats Summer Elite Hockey Camp

Get a jump on the hockey season with an intense week of training! This camp will be packed with advanced agility, balance, and speed drills, as well as stick and puck handling techniques. Skaters will have fun, scrimmage and train! A final scrimmage will be played at the end of the camp week.
Please note: Campers must have taken at least one week of Rink Rats Summer Camp prior to this camp, Hockey Learn to Skate class (via Rec-Plex Skate Academy), OR they must have coach approval. Full hockey equipment required to participate.

Themed Art Camps

These full-day camps offer kids a unique opportunity to learn under the leadership of skilled instructors while developing their artistic skills at an accelerated rate. Campers receive instruction in classic art forms while expanding their horizons into contemporary ones. Sessions include age-appropriate creative play and rest times, reading and storytelling, and socializing. These camps will also feature “plein air” or “open air” painting outside (weather permitting). Campers should wear clothes they do not mind getting dirty or stained.
Sculpture Camp

These full-day camps offer a unique opportunity to learn under the leadership of skilled instructors while developing their artistic skills at an accelerated rate. Campers will each have their own brick of air-dry clay to use each week and will explore a wide range of sculpting styles and materials. Campers should wear clothes that they do not mind getting dirty or stained.
Fencing Camp

This full-day Fencing camp offers ages 10-16 an unique opportunity to learn under the leadership of a skilled instructor while developing their artistic skills at an accelerated rate. Your child will learn the basics of the art of fencing, including the en garde position, stance, defense, attacks, and courtesy. This is a combined class for both beginners and experienced. Campers should wear comfortable pants (sweat pants or running pants). On Friday, campers prepare for an exhibition where their work from throughout the week is showcased. Family and friends of the campers are invited to the exhibition, as well as the general public. All equipment is provided by the instructor.
Music Camp

Do you have a child that is eager to play music? This unique enrichment program offers children ages 10-16 the opportunity to experience the enjoyment and camaraderie of learning to play the guitar, banjo, or mandolin in a folk jam ensemble. Each day our qualified instructor will guide the students through the rudiments of rhythm and technique by teaching simple melodies and songs arranged in polyphonic form. The varied theme for each week presents novel material of study for students seeking to attend multiple weeks. Fridays conclude camp with a performance showcase by the aspiring musicians who demonstrate their bourgeoning skill set. This accelerated full-day program serves as a foundation for the upcoming music education courses opening in the fall. Program participants are required to bring their own acoustic guitar, banjo, or mandolin in addition to a folder and wire music stand.
Introduction to Theatrical Stage Combat

In this camp, young actors will learn the nuances of unarmed movement in a theatrical environment. This camp centers on communication, cooperation, focus and of course, trust. Not merely a class on technique, this camp is an in-depth look at these concepts. The goal is to train young actors as we are shaping minds. The camp consists of three basic components and are fluid and complimentary to each other. The components include safety, character development and spectacle. The camp is designed to instill a sense of shared responsibility, respect for others, awareness of environment and of course, creative expression. Campers should wear comfortable pants (sweat pants or running pants). At the end of this one week camp, campers will perform pieces that they worked on together. The sense of achievement and ownership in such an endeavor is incalculable! So, let's learn and have fun!
