Event Details

• Saturday, July 13, 2024
• 9 to 10:30 am (check-in from 9 to 9:15 am, Captain's Meeting at 9:20 am, races begin at 9:30 am)
• $25 per team of two (each team must have two members)
• Ages 10 and over
• Laurel Park Outdoor Pool (map)

Teams of two will build a cardboard boat to race in the Laurel Park Outdoor Pool! Rec-Plex gift cards will be given out for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place (fastest speed), most creative design, best team name, and most spectacular sinking! $25 fee is for one team of two people. Event Structure

• Teams MUST have two participants in each boat for the duration of their heat. Please build your boats accordingly.
• There will be two brackets- one for 18 and under, one for adults 19 and up, with a max of 12 teams per bracket
• Teams will be put into a single-elimination bracket upon registration (teams may get a bye in the first round depending on the numbers of teams that register and show up on regatta day). Everyone is guaranteed one race. Boats that lose their race may paddle in the leisure area after their heat. 
• Brackets will be unveiled on regatta day.
• Event will be made up of heats with two teams racing each other at a time. 

Rules

Participants MUST follow all team and boat design rules.

Registration is required and ends on Sunday, July 7 at midnight. Teams should expect an email the week of the event with important details.
