The new "Green-T" style intersection improved safety, reduces congestion due to truck and shift change traffic, and limits disruption of traffic along Salt River Road. Westbound travelers on Salt River Road are able to reach nearby Highway 79 without having to stop for the signal. This project received 80% of funding through a federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) reimbursement program, administered by MODOT, and 16% of funding through a St. Charles County Road Board reimbursement program.
