Overview

Members of the Board of Appeals are appointed by the Board of Alderman. This board consists of members who are qualified by experience and training in matters pertaining to building construction, and who are not employees of the City.

Applicants may appeal to the Board of Appeals based on a claim that the true intent of a building code or the rules in the code have been incorrectly interpreted, or the provisions of this code do not fully apply, or if an equally good or better form of construction is proposed.

The Board of Appeals meets on a scheduled monthly basis only if an appeal is pending to be heard. The City's Building Commissioner represents the City of St. Peters, but does not vote.
