The Real Estate and Personal Property tax for the City of St. Peters is collected by the County Collector's office. The current tax rate is $.77 per $100 assessed valuation. The County Collector's office will mail out a statement in October and the tax bill is due by December 31. If taxes are not paid on time, interest charges do accrue. Assessed value is established by the St. Charles County Assessor's Office. Residential property is assessed at 19% of market value, commercial property at 32% of market value, agricultural property at 12% of productivity value. Personal Property is assessed at 33 1/3% of book value. The total assessed value for the City of St. Peters for calendar year 2010 was $1,027,728,154.
