St. Peters Summer CampsKids can be themselves at a St. Peters Summer Camp, because there's a Summer Camp for every kid. Artistic? Athletic? Crafty? Adventurous? St. Peters caters to all kinds of kids with weekly Art Experience Camps, Activities Camps and Sports Camps.

 

The Cultural Arts Centre is located at St. Peters City Hall. You can bring your child to St. Peters City Centre for all of St. Peters’ Summer Camps. Choose ART EXPERIENCE CAMPS, FENCING CAMPS or THEATER CAMPS at the Cultural Arts Centre at City Hall, 1 St. Peters Centre Blvd., and your child can have fun creating art. PLUS, Full-Day Art Campers enjoy a partial day of activities at the St. Peters Rec-Plex and City Centre Park playground as well as Plein Air (outdoor) painting opportunities!

St. Peters Art Camp

 

 

2015 Summer Art Experience Camps

At the St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre (west wing of City Hall)

 

Your camper’s dreams will come true through these uniquely themed Art Experience Camps. During camp they will discover their ability to create their own masterpieces by discovering new techniques to express themselves artistically.

 

ART EXPERIENCE CAMP FEES:

  • Half-Day Camp: $65 St. Peters residents / $75 non-residents
  • Full-Day Camps:
    • Art, Fencing and Theatre Camps: $110 St. Peters residents / $120 non-residents
    • It's All About Clay Camp: $130 St. Peters residents / $140 non-residents


Art Experience Camps will meet at the Cultural Arts Centre located in the west wing of St. Peters City Hall. Pre-registration is required in-person at the St. Peters Rec-Plex, 5200 Mexico Road. You must present a current Resident Privilege Card to receive resident rates.

June 1-5
Wild About Drawing

Ages 6-9 and 10-12 • Full-Day only
Campers will spend the week exploring a variety of drawing and painting techniques including color mixing, line, texture, and pattern. They will also create anime characters and cartoons.

June 8-12
Art International

Ages 6-9 • Full- and Half-Day/Ages 10-12 • Full-Day
Campers will experience the arts and cultures from around the world. Projects will include art inspirations from Australia, China, Africa, India, Russia, and more.

June 15-19
Science Meets Art

Ages 6-9 and 10-12 • Full-Day only
From the center of the Earth to the cosmos, your child will discover the artistic side of science. This camp will focus on composition, perspective and depth. Campers will sketch objects and environments from their imagination.

June 22-26
No Bones About It Fish Camp!

Ages 6-9 and 10-12 • Full-Day only
Who would have thought painting/drawing fish could be so much fun? Campers will explore fish (and other lake/ocean creatures) through texture, 3-D projects and perspective.

June 29-July 2
Black and White Camp

Ages 6-9 and 10-12 • Full-Day only (4 days–$88 St. Peters residents / $96 non-residents)
That’s right! A camp dedicated to the colors of black, white and some gray. Campers will receive instruction in the fundamentals of art while using paint, charcoal, pencil and more to create one-of-a-kind masterpieces.

For the Birds

Ages 6-9 • Full and Half-Day/Ages 10-12 • Full-Day
Let’s explore the lives of our fine-feathered friends through creative and artistic projects. Projects include use of watercolor, inks, tempura and oil pastels.

July 13-17
Mosaics & Sculpture

Ages 6-9 • Full- and Half-Day/Ages 10-12 • Full-Day
In this camp, your child will utilize no bake clay, glass tiles, wire, fabric and more to create beautiful art sculptures and mosaics. Campers will not be using the wheel or glazing their creations. (If your child is interested in clay please refer to It’s All About Clay Camp.)

July 20-24
Wildlife & Animal Art

Ages 6-9 • Full- and Half-Day/Ages 10-12 • Full-Day
Art fundamentals will be introduced through animals, nature and pets. Campers will explore the woods, streams and animals abound.

July 27-31
Just People

Ages 6-9 and 10-12 • Full-Day only
In this camp, your child will create people through silhouettes, caricatures, cartoons and anime. They will only be limited by their imagination.

August 3-7
Art Like an Egyptian

Ages 6-9 and 10-12 • Full-Day only
Campers explore the ancient world through the art of the Egyptians. They will build a sarcophagus, invent their own kingdom, create manuscripts and so much more.


2015 THEATRE CAMPS

June 8-12 OR June 22-26
Ages 9-12 • Full-Day only
$110/St. Peters residents • $120/non-residents
In this camp, we will explore a range of performance skills including the techniques that actors use on stage. Campers will also learn about theatrical terms, how to audition, dance and music. Students will work as a group to create a unique performance the last day of camp.


2015 IT’S ALL ABOUT CLAY CAMPS

June 22-26 OR July 6-10
Ages 8-12 • 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. • Full-Day only
$130/St. Peters residents • $140/non-residents
Limited to 20 campers per session!
You asked us and we listened! If your camper loves working with clay all day and loves the pottery wheel, this is the camp for them. Campers will each have their own brick of clay (12.5 lbs.) to use throughout the week working on clay projects.

 

Please be aware that clay has a process. It has to be scraped and dried before being fired. This is not possible during the week your child is here. We must ask you to bring your camper back the following week (a schedule with dates/times will be emailed to you and posted on the City’s web site, www.stpetersmo.net) to glaze their projects for a final fire.

 

2015 FENCING 101 & 102 CAMPS

This is a combined camp.

July 6-10 OR July 13-17
Ages 10-16 • 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. • Full-Day only
$110/St. Peters residents • $120/non-residents
Campers ages 10-16 will learn this art’s basics, including the en garde position, stance, defense, attacks and courtesy. This class is perfect for the beginner or for those who have experienced fencing before. Wear comfortable pants (sweat pants or running pants) to class. Instructor provides all equipment.

2015 Rec-Plex Summer Activities Camp

 

 RP Camp - Waterslide
Summer Activities Camp provides a safe, enjoyable opportunity for kids ages 6-12 to meet new friends, play games, go on field trips, and enjoy plenty of Rec-Plex activities such as swimming, diving, ice skating and more. Campers enjoy both the St. Peters Rec-Plex and beautiful City Centre Park. Camp fees include a T-shirt and weekly field trip. The camp is staffed with qualified personnel who develop and coordinate activities/games and supervise the camps.

 

Camp meets from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and runs in one-week sessions. Rise and Shine and Sunsetters Camps are extended camps that are available before and after our normal camp hours. Registration is available only in person at the St. Peters Rec-Plex, 5200 Mexico Road. LEARN HOW TO REGISTER.

2015 Rec-Plex Summer Sports Camps

 

Rec-Plex Baseball CampSt. Peters Rec-Plex Sports Camps offer kids a chance to play their favorite sport and also enjoy other Rec-Plex activities, such as swimming and ice skating, and fun outdoors in City Centre Park. Camp fees include a T-Shirt and weekly field trip. Campers play in their own age group, for a chance to meet new friends. Rise and Shine and Sunsetters before and after camps are available. Limited openings are available so sign up early! Registration is available only in person at the St. Peters Rec-Plex, 5200 Mexico Road.

 

Baseball Camp, Ages 7-12, $141/week

Oil your gloves and join us for fun on the diamond. Campers will enjoy America's pastime as they hit, field, throw and scrimmage against each other.

 

Basketball Camp, Ages 7-12, $141/week
Here’s a slam dunk for summer fun: If your child loves basketball, this camp will build up skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and defensive/offensive positioning.

 

Flag Football Camp, Ages 7-12, $141/week
Campers are you ready for some football? Your child will work on passing, receiving, defensive/offensive plays, and get an overall understanding of flag football.

 

Rec-Plex Soccer CampSoccer Camp, Ages 7-12, $141/week
Campers will sharpen their soccer skills while playing the game they love. Your child will work on dribbling, passing, shooting, defensive posturing and attacking skills.

 

Volleyball Camp, Ages 7-12, $141/week

Bump, set, spike, have fun! Your child will learn the fundamentals of volleyball on our indoor courts.

 

NEW! Pickleball Camp, Ages 7-12, $141/week

This new indoor paddle sport offers a mix of tennis, badminton and ping pong—fun for all abilities! Learn more about Pickleball.

 

Rink Rats Summer Hockey Camp, Ages 7-12, $193/week
Rink Rats will get up to four hours of ice time per day. We’ll develop agility, balance, speed and teamwork, plus have fun playing different mini-games and drills. Campers also receive a FREE CAMP HOCKEY JERSEY.

 

Summer Figure Skating Camp, Ages 6-12, $193/week
Skaters will develop skating skills, plus get an introduction to ice dancing, synchronized skating and choreography while building up cardio fitness. Camp is for Beta through Freestyle 5 skaters. Campers will enjoy up to three hours of ice time per day.

Summer Camp Registration

 

  • REGISTRATION FOR ART EXPERIENCE CAMP, IT'S ALL ABOUT CLAY CAMP, FENCING CAMP AND THEATRE CAMP IS AVAILABLE IN-PERSON ONLY AT THE REC-PLEX, 5200 Mexico Road. 
    • Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. There are a limited number of openings for each session.
    • All camp registration packet and authorization sheets must be filled out and all sessions must be paid in full at the time of registration.
    • Registration must be completed NO LATER than 7 p.m. on the Tuesday the week before camp.
    • Call 636-397-6903, ext. 1624, for more information about these camps.

  • ST. PETERS REC-PLEX REGISTRATION IS AVAILABLE IN-PERSON ONLY AT THE ST. PETERS REC-PLEX, 5200 Mexico Rd. Preregistration is required for all St. Peters Summer Camps. See some quick rules below:
    • Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. We have a limited number of spaces for each session.
    • All camp sessions must be paid in full at the time of registration.
    • Registration must be completed by 5 p.m. on the Tuesday prior to camp.
    • All registrations must be made in person at the Rec-Plex. Online registration is not available.
    • Camp registration and authorization forms must be completed at time of registration.
    • If special arrangements need to be made for your child, it must be done in writing at the time of registration. 
    • Programming sheets will be posted online showing more specific activities for your children in the week prior to attending camp.

LUNCH POLICY: For lunchtime, there are two options for Rec-Plex campers. You can purchase a meal at the Rec-Plex or send lunch with your child. Either way, please send two snacks with your child. Art Experience Campers should bring their lunch every day. Full-day campers should come with two snacks each day. Please use a small lunch bag, because space is limited. Keep in mind that we do not refrigerate food, but we will keep the food indoors out of the heat.
