Rec-Plex Facilities

 

The St. Peters Rec-Plex consists of the original Rec-Plex North facility and the newer Rec-Plex South building. Most activities for Rec-Plex daily users and pass-holders take place in Rec-Plex North, which includes expanded cardio and weight training fitness areas, an indoor track, indoor pools, an ice rink, a basketball/volleyball gym, and rooms for aerobics and other fitness classes. Rec-Plex South includes two more ice rinks, a gymnasium, a multipurpose gym and a meeting room. (CHECK REGULAR HOURS OF OPERATION FOR REC-PLEX FACILITIES.)

Fitness Areas

 

The Rec-Plex's Cardio and Weight Rooms offer 8,000 square feet of fitness area with state-of-the-art equipment and 10 large-screen TVs. An elevated, indoor track is accessible from the Cardio and Weight Rooms. The Cardio and Weight Rooms and the Indoor Track are open to ages 16 and up.

 

CARDIO ROOM: Come work out on the best cardio equipment you can find in our expansive, 4,500-square-foot Cardio Room. We have machines made by such brands as Star Trac, Nautilus, Precor, Octane, True Fitness, Life Fitness, Woodway and Cybex. The room is arranged in stair-step fashion to give you a good view of the eight large-screen televisions on the wall. Bring your earplugs to listen as you watch and work out.

We have free weights, dumb bells, circuit training equipment and other strength training equipment for our Rec-Plex guests age 16 and over.   • More than 30 units of Cybex and Nautilus circuit training equipment
  • Free weights with flat and incline benches, squat rack, and leg press
  • Cable crossover unit
  • Dumb bells from 5 to 120 lbs.

Natatorium


At the Rec-Plex, we call our large area with indoor pools the "Natatorium." The Rec-Plex Natatorium is a world-class facility that has hosted the U.S. Olympic Diving Trials, U.S. Olympic Festival aquatic events, national and regional competitions, and many local competitions. But, more often, it's a place for our community--whether you have a family who enjoys the leisure pool, you're an adult keeping fit by swimming laps, you're looking for swim lessons, or you're a member of a local swimming or diving team. You also might want to try out our spa or sauna while you're here.

The Natatorium includes:

Ice Rinks

 

REC-PLEX NORTH: The St. Peters Rec-Plex has three NHL-sized indoor ice rinks with spectator seating. The original Rec-Plex North ice rink is home to our region's premier figure skating program, host to various hockey programs, and the site for skate sessions open to the public. The 600-seat ice rink also hosts exhibition ice shows.

 

REC-PLEX SOUTH: The Rec-Plex South building has two ice rinks: a 1,200-seat arena (Rink A) and a rink with 300 portable seats (Rink B). Hockey programs from all over the area are enjoying the extra ice time provided by the Rec-Plex South rinks, opened in fall 2007. The ice rinks are available to rent.

Rec-Plex Gymnasiums

 

The Rec-Plex has three gymnasiums:

 

REC-PLEX NORTH OPEN PLAY GYM: The gym at the Rec-Plex North building is open to Rec-Plex patrons. Come in to shoot hoops during open play basketball time. Bring your own basketball, or rent a basketball from the front desk for just $1.00 as long as you have a Resident Privilege Card or Driver's License with you.And, if you like to play volleyball, we set up the nets once a week for our users.

 

REC-PLEX SOUTH GYMNASIUM: The Rec-Plex South Gymnasium can accommodate two basketball or volleyball league games at once, or the full-length basketball court can be used for one game. The gymnasium often hosts games administered by outside leagues. The gymnasium also can accommodate rentals for any number of events, such as practices for local basketball and volleyball teams and tournaments (martial arts, for example)

 

REC-PLEX SOUTH MULTIPURPOSE GYM: The multipurpose gym is set up for full-court basketball and volleyball, plus it hosts several City of St. Peters family events and other activities. Rentals are available for athletic teams, parties and other activities.

AEROBICS ROOMS: The Rec-Plex has two classrooms devoted to group Aerobics classes for ages 16 and up. A variety of aerobics classes are offered throughout the week. Tot Drop (Babysitting Service)

 

Our Tot Drop babysitting service is located on the main level. If you're in a Rec-Plex class or you're a Rec-Plex member, you may reserve a spot for your child for a fee. LEARN MORE ABOUT THE TOT DROP SERVICE AND HOURS.

Locker Rooms

 

ADULT LOCKER ROOMS: The adult locker rooms near the fitness areas provide customers ages 18 and up with a steam room and dry sauna in addition to showers and lockers.

 

FAMILY LOCKER ROOMS: The family locker rooms provide direct access to the Natatorium.

 

NOTE: Always lock up your belongings during your visit. Locks are available at the Rec-Plex Front Desk for one-day rental (FREE to Rec-Plex Passholders, or $1.00 plus a valid driver's license). Locks must be returned before the end of the day.

REC-PLEX NORTH: The "Finish Line" food court at Rec-Plex North is a great place to stop after a workout for a refreshing beverage or to refuel with a quick meal. Watch your children splash in the pool from the observation window while enjoying a tasty snack. There is no admission charge to the Rec-Plex for using the Finish Line, so drop by with friends for lunch. With seating capacity for 200, a crowd-pleasing wide menu selection and an exciting atmosphere, the Finish Line has become a sought-after place for family gatherings and meetings. Video games, pinball, a dance machine and pool tables are available when the urge strikes to rack up some points!
