Planning & Zoning Commission

The Planning & Zoning Commission makes, adopts, and amends, if necessary, a City plan for the physical development of the City. The Commission also prepares zoning regulations related to the height, area, bulk, location and use of private, non-profit and public structures and premises and population density.

The Commission checks proposed developments for compliance with applicable regulations and makes recommendations and reports relating to the City’s comprehensive plan and development of the City, regulations governing the subdivision of land within St. Peters and changes in regulations, restrictions and boundaries of the City.

The Commission, established under the provisions of the City’s ordinances as authorized by State law, is composed of 10 citizen members, a member of the Board of Aldermen selected by the Board of Aldermen annually. The citizen members are volunteer residents, appointed for terms of four years.

Regular meetings of the Commission are held at 6:30 p.m.on the first Wednesday of every month at the St. Peters Justice Center.
