Health and Wellness Advisory Committee
The Health and Wellness Advisory Committee advises the Board of Aldermen on health and wellness issues in our community and assists in efforts to inform and educate the public. Read articles written by members of the Health & Wellness Advisory Committee here.
The mission of the Health & Wellness Advisory Committee is to engage citizens through education and the pursuit of healthy lifestyle choices, including proper nutrition, physical activity, and overall wellness habits.
The goals of the Committee are to:
- Partner with healthcare experts and educators to identify healthcare issues and concerns of interest to our community,
- Communicate with citizens and local businesses regarding the promotion of healthy lifestyle choices, and
- Promote citizen involvement in activities and events that support proper nutrition, physical activity and overall wellness habits.
The Committee is composed of eight members with an interest or expertise in wellness and health-related issues. Three of the members are not required to be residents of St. Peters if those persons possess special expertise deemed essential or desirable on the Advisory Committee.
Regular meetings are held the fourth Monday of each month at the St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre inside City Hall.
Aldermen Dave Thomas and Terri Violet serve as the Aldermanic Liaisons to the Committee.
