Can your kids harness the power of Mother Nature? Sure. All you need is some wind, a kite, and open space. The City of St. Peters provides all three for FREE during the annual Kite Festival. The event is on Saturday, May 22, 2010, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Woodlands Sports Park.
The St. Peters Rangers Division sponsors the Kite Festival each year for area families to get out to the park and enjoy the fun and wholesome activity of kite-flying. The first 100 kids will receive free kite-building kits. Refreshments will be available at a nominal cost.

The St. Peters Veterans' Memorial near the entrance to City Hall is the site of several ceremonies each year honoring the men and women who have fought to defend our nation. Ceremonies include:
Memorial Day, Armed Forces Day, Veterans Day, Pearl Harbor Day Remembrance
This event at Woodlands Sports Park introduces youths to the joys of fishing. The lake is pre-stocked with Channel Catfish and small Blue Gill. Worms are provided, but we highly recommend you bring hot dogs, which we have found to be very successful bait. The setting is perfect with plenty of space to stretch out so tangled lines are rare. Join us next June at Woodlands Sports Park!
Accessibility: Parking, ramp and the fishing dock are handicapped-accessible.
There is a fee of $5.00 per person. Pre-registration is required. Participants can register at the St. Peters Rec-Plex, or by calling (636) 939-2386, ext. 400, or register online at Rec-Connect.
Directions to Woodlands: Mid Rivers Mall Drive to Ohmes Rd. to Woodlands Parkway.
This three-day festival in Old Town St. Peters is traditionally held on the third weekend of July. Carnival rides, arts and crafts booths, old gas engine displays, great food, and a list of entertainment, including live music, are some of the fun things you will find at the Olde Tyme Picnic. You also can enjoy the annual parade from Westfield Shoppingtown-Mid Rivers through Old Town typically held on Saturday morning.
The auction may include items such as brand-name bicycles, used cars, electronics, tools, clothes and more. Everything is sold "as is" and "where is." All sales are final and buyers must remove their purchases from the premises immediately following the auction. Flyers providing auction details are posted at City Hall, the Public Works/Parks Building, Police Station, Community and Arts Center and Spencer Road Library. The auction is frequently held in the Spring and/or Fall, but the dates may vary.
The Ranger Enforcement Division’s most popular event gives riders ages 5 to 15 an opportunity to test their skills on a regulation BMX track while promoting bicycle safety awareness. The City of St. Peters' nationally sanctioned St. Peters BMX track at Brown Road Park in Old Town St. Peters is considered one of the best BMX tracks in the U.S. The BMX track also is open during portions of the year for resident youths to practice their riding skills.
Wear your costume and help us haunt City Hall! Enjoy dinner and activities at a low cost during this event, typically held on a day leading up to Halloween.
Many residents from our community come together to light the Christmas tree and kick off the holiday season on the evening before Thanksgiving. Come enjoy the beautiful holiday lights, music and a movie for the kids. The Mayor and Board of Aldermen host the annual event. We typically draw the winner of the annual Wild About Recycling grand prize on this night. And, sometimes, Santa even shows up.
Non-perishable food items are sought to build the annual Incredible Edible Christmas Tree sculpture at the St. Peters Community & Arts Center. All donations are given to local food pantries. Food donations are accepted at City Hall and the Community & Arts Center, generally beginning right after Thanksgiving and through the New Year’s holiday.
