RECYCLING SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

HES/Recycle City

Part-time up to 28 hours per week, not to exceed 1500 hours per year.

Hours to be covered; Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM and rotating Saturdays 7:00 AM - 2:30 PM.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

May perform general labor to sort through commercial and residential waste to obtain recyclable material. May perform general labor and tasks to direct customers and inspect incoming vehicle loads. Communicates effectively to answer questions and concerns about processes and procedures related to tipping waste and recyclables. May operate and perform minor maintenance to light equipment, power tools, and motorized equipment. May perform general cleaning of tipping floor with power scrubber and hand tools. Performs a wide variety of skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, HVAC, motors, compressors, blowers, gearboxes, belts, small engines, and pressure washers. Repairs and maintains specialized equipment, vehicle and machinery. Orders parts necessary for repair and maintenance. Maintains records of maintenance and repair work. JOB DESCRIPTION

Sorts/opens MSW/blue bags and loose paper or container products. Opens and empties blue bags and sorts various grades of paper products and mixed containers and other blue bag materials by category. Ensures the quality of the products by selecting only recyclable material from the trash sort line and further sorts material by product. Maintains a quantitative performance in a continuous feed conveyor capacity. Maintains work unit files and records. Reports any questionable items or quality-related issues to supervisors. Keeps area clean and orderly by following housekeeping procedures. Sorts and classifies metals. On occasion must use a forklift to move and empty collection containers. Must become certified in First Aid/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within six (6) months of hire. Must be certified as an authorized user by the Regional Justice Information Service and Missouri Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS)/Livescan within six (6) months of hire.
