POLICE DISPATCHER

 

JOB OPENING #1269 

MPS/POLICE

FULL-TIME; ROTATING SHIFTS

After completion of training, dispatchers will be allowed to participate in a bid system which will determine which shift and which days off they will receive. Dispatchers work shifts that must provide coverage twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, including weekends and holidays.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Receives incoming calls for service for police, rangers and other emergency and public service agencies. Prioritizes calls and dispatches appropriate response resource(s). Monitors alarm systems and Teletype communications. Operates Computer Aided Dispatch System for radio and telephone communications, tracking personnel and vehicles. Records all necessary information regarding transmission and activities, according to established departmental requirements and procedures within guidelines specified by the Federal Communications Commission. Enters and updates information in the required computer databases. Researches, obtains and disseminates information utilizing computerized database systems and other data sources. Monitors individuals in holding cells, booking room and sally-port area for proper conduct, safety, and medical or other needs using video and audio equipment. Monitors building security by limiting access to entrances. Performs a variety of general clerical support duties related to communications activities. Notifies appropriate authorities or other City departments of situations requiring attention after normal business hours. Reviews and responds to customer/resident inquiries, concerns and complaints. Performs all work in compliance with established City safety standards. Performs other work as assigned.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.

High School graduate or GED equivalent and three (3) years of applicable customer service experience.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Some knowledge of:  Police Department activities and lines of responsibility, geography and boundaries of the City as well as areas immediately adjoining the City, computer use and fundamental office skills.

Experience in data entry and current certification as a MULES, REJIS, ALERT operator.  Ability to type 30 cwpm.

 

RATE: $17.77/hr. to $21.20/hr. depending on qualifications and experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Performs general labor and janitorial tasks to clean and care for assigned building(s) and premises to maintain a safe and attractive environment.  Cleans windows, floors, carpets and restrooms.  Replenishes supplies and empties trash.  Opens or secures buildings.  Performs light maintenance and repair tasks including plumbing, carpentry, and painting.  May perform laundering tasks and set up and/or take down meeting rooms for scheduled activities.  Removes ice and snow from sidewalks.  Operates various mechanical, electrical, and battery operated machines and uses cleaning materials to aid in performing janitorial and attendant duties. Performs all work in compliance with established City safety standards. Performs other work as assigned.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.

Fundamental knowledge of janitorial equipment.

Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely.

Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Motor Vehicle Operator’s license valid in the state of Missouri.

CITY OF ST. PETERS RESIDENT YOUTH—2014

Clerical #14000 and Laborer #14001

 

Some positions require working weekdays, after school, and school breaks, continuing through the summer.  Other positions require summer help only.

Positions are not to exceed 1500 hours in a 12 month period.

 

POSITIONS AVAILABLE:

 

CLERICAL #14000:  Salary $7.25/hr.

Resident Youth-Clerical, ages 16 to 23

Positions may include filing, copying, answering phones, data entry, sorting and distributing mail and other tasks as required. Customer service skills, cash handling experience and ability to use an electronic cash receipting system is desired for the Citizen Action Center.

 

 

LABORER #14001:  Salary range $7.68/hr. to $8.00/hr.

Resident Youth-Laborers, ages 18 to 23

Positions may include assisting with facility and vehicle maintenance, basic clean up, painting, light manual labor, cleaning of equipment, care of grounds, and other tasks as required.

 

Parks Department:  Resident Youth-Laborers to work May-September up to 40 hours per week or year round flexible schedule bi-weekly average not to exceed 28 hours per week. Will work on athletic fields, grounds maintenance, right-of-way mowing, park clean-up or building and pool maintenance.

 

Solid Waste Collection:  Resident Youth-Laborers year round bi-weekly average not to exceed 28 hours per week. Hours 6 AM till 2 PM and generally working outdoors, Monday through Friday. Knowledge of City streets helpful. Will work with department staff and/or other Resident Youth. Assists with weekly yard waste collection on Mondays and Wednesdays. Deliver, pickup and clean solid waste carts and assist with oversize item collection.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.

A resident of the City of St. Peters between the ages of 16 and 23 (Laborers 18-23).

Some positions may require a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

This position has responsibility of cooking for events in food service.  A person in this position also assists with the maintenance of food service area and equipment while maintaining a safe and sanitary environment. A person in this position could work in various food and beverage outlets throughout the clubhouse and/or the actual golf course itself.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.

Must have a Motor Vehicle Operator’s license valid in the state of Missouri.

Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

This position has responsibility to perform varied duties in ice rink area to include responding to customer needs, supervising and assisting with training of employees, assisting in assigning duties, ensuring area is clean and properly stocked and performing other assigned tasks as required.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must be a US citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.

Must be at least 18 years old.

Must be able to skate.

Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

Must be able to successfully complete training on an ice resurfacer, if assigned.

The City of St. Peters Golf Course is looking for grounds maintenance staff who are interested in working part-time. Hours vary depending on need of Golf Course and require early morning availability. Position includes use of hand rakes, shovels and pruning shears. Other equipment includes push mowers, weed eaters, back-pack blowers and riding mowers. Must be at least 18 years of age and ability to lift 50 lbs. Rate of pay: $7.25/hr.

We have immediate openings morning and daytime hours between the hours of 5:30 a.m and 3:30 p.m. Training available if needed. Lifeguards are responsible for customer safety and enjoyment while using our aquatic facilities. Salary: $7.25/hr. plus shift premium of 50 cents for daytime hours Monday through Friday 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Labor Day and Memorial Day.
