Job Description

Duties may include writing simple news releases; assisting with the City’s internal and external publications; assisting with adding/changing content on the City’s website; taking photos; assisting with special events and marketing campaigns.

Perform other work as assigned.

Performs all work in compliance with established City safety standards.

 

Minimum Requirements

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

 

TDS / PLANNING & ENGINEERINGMonday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Active participation in a one or two person field team investigating concerns, posting sites and checking sites under development. Research related to the comprehensive plan. Updating of charts related to zoning petitions, home occupations, annexations, site plans, record plats, use approvals, etc. Prepare summary information sheets for PUDs and Special Use Permits. Possible assistance with zoning/site plan reports and reviews.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.

A Motor Vehicle Operator’s license valid in the state of Missouri.

Ability to carry a hand held GPS for several hours.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATONS

Knowledge of surveying, mapping, Access database and material testing practices.

Second or third year engineering student.

Previous experience in GIS applications.

CITY OF ST. PETERS RESIDENT YOUTH—2014

Clerical #14000 and Laborer #14001

 

Some positions require working weekdays, after school, and school breaks, continuing through the summer.  Other positions require summer help only.

Positions are not to exceed 1500 hours in a 12 month period.

 

POSITIONS AVAILABLE:

 

CLERICAL #14000:  Salary $7.25/hr.

Resident Youth-Clerical, ages 16 to 23

Positions may include filing, copying, answering phones, data entry, sorting and distributing mail and other tasks as required. Customer service skills, cash handling experience and ability to use an electronic cash receipting system is desired for the Citizen Action Center.

 

 

LABORER #14001:  Salary range $7.68/hr. to $8.00/hr.

Resident Youth-Laborers, ages 18 to 23

Positions may include assisting with facility and vehicle maintenance, basic clean up, painting, light manual labor, cleaning of equipment, care of grounds, and other tasks as required.

 

Parks Department:  Resident Youth-Laborers to work May-September up to 40 hours per week or year round flexible schedule bi-weekly average not to exceed 28 hours per week. Will work on athletic fields, grounds maintenance, right-of-way mowing, park clean-up or building and pool maintenance.

 

Solid Waste Collection:  Resident Youth-Laborers year round bi-weekly average not to exceed 28 hours per week. Hours 6 AM till 2 PM and generally working outdoors, Monday through Friday. Knowledge of City streets helpful. Will work with department staff and/or other Resident Youth. Assists with weekly yard waste collection on Mondays and Wednesdays. Deliver, pickup and clean solid waste carts and assist with oversize item collection.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.

A resident of the City of St. Peters between the ages of 16 and 23 (Laborers 18-23).

Some positions may require a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.

Performs front desk activities, customer service, operates point-of-sale register; cash balancing, answers multiple incoming phone lines. May perform the following:  class registration and facility scheduling, operate ID card computer, annual pass sales, issue privilege cards.

CAMP INSTRUCTORS

 

 

Camp Dates:  May 27, 2014 through August 8, 2014

 

Training Dates:       

May 19, 2014 through May 23, 2014

 

CAMP INSTRUCTORS:  Assist in planning activities and day-to-day supervision of children. 

 

We are looking for responsible, energetic, patient and reliable personnel with general knowledge of children’s games, arts/crafts, and other activities. Previous experience and a strong interest to work with children is desirable. Training will be given in CPR and First Aid.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Performs general labor to repair and maintain parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, and trails.

Operates and performs minor maintenance to light and heavy equipment, power tools, motorized equipment, and vehicles.

May apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides.

May perform snow removal activities.

Performs all work in compliance with established City safety standards.

Performs other work as assigned.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.

High School graduate or GED certificate.

One (1) year of applicable experience.

Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and carry it a reasonable distance, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 pounds.

Must have a Motor Vehicle Operators license valid in the State of Missouri.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Skilled in operating and maintaining a variety of tools and light equipment.

Experience in: General park maintenance; building and pool maintenance; horticulture, arboriculture, or grounds maintenance; and with irrigation systems. Familiarity with St. Peters streets, parks, trails, and common ground.

We have immediate openings morning and daytime hours between the hours of 5:30 a.m and 3:30 p.m. Training available if needed. Lifeguards are responsible for customer safety and enjoyment while using our aquatic facilities. Salary: $7.25/hr. plus shift premium of 50 cents for daytime hours Monday through Friday 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Labor Day and Memorial Day.
