BUILDING REPAIR TECHNICIAN

PRS/Maintenance

Full-time Saturday through Wednesday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Performs a wide variety of skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, HVAC, motors, compressors, blowers, gearboxes, and belts. Repairs and maintains specialized equipment and machinery. Orders parts necessary for repair and maintenance. Maintains records of maintenance and repair work. Operates with advanced skill light and heavy equipment as required or assigned. Operates small hand tools, motorized power equipment, specialized equipment, and electronic test devices. Assists in on-the-job training of employees in regards to safety, use of equipment, and work methods. Repair and maintain plumbing, electrical and air-conditioning and heating systems. Perform building remodeling and construction. Install equipment and performs other work as assigned.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.

High School graduate or GED certificate.

One (1) year of applicable experience.

Motor vehicle operator license valid in the state of Missouri.

Must have basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing.

Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and carry it a reasonable distance, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 pounds.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

JOB DESCRIPTION

Performs general labor and janitorial tasks to clean and care for assigned building(s) and premises to maintain a safe and attractive environment.  Cleans windows, floors, carpets and restrooms.  Replenishes supplies and empties trash.  Opens or secures buildings.  Performs light maintenance and repair tasks including plumbing, carpentry, and painting.  May perform laundering tasks and set up and/or take down meeting rooms for scheduled activities.  Removes ice and snow from sidewalks.  Operates various mechanical, electrical, and battery operated machines and uses cleaning materials to aid in performing janitorial and attendant duties. Some positions require working weekdays, after school, and school breaks, continuing through the summer.  Other positions require summer help only.

Positions are not to exceed 1500 hours in a 12 month period.

 

POSITIONS AVAILABLE:

 

CLERICAL #14000:  Salary $7.25/hr.

Resident Youth-Clerical, ages 16 to 23

Positions may include filing, copying, answering phones, data entry, sorting and distributing mail and other tasks as required. Customer service skills, cash handling experience and ability to use an electronic cash receipting system is desired for the Citizen Action Center.

 

 

LABORER #14001:  Salary range $7.68/hr. to $8.00/hr.

Resident Youth-Laborers, ages 18 to 23

Positions may include assisting with facility and vehicle maintenance, basic clean up, painting, light manual labor, cleaning of equipment, care of grounds, and other tasks as required.

 

Parks Department:  Resident Youth-Laborers to work May-September up to 40 hours per week or year round flexible schedule bi-weekly average not to exceed 28 hours per week. Will work on athletic fields, grounds maintenance, right-of-way mowing, park clean-up or building and pool maintenance.

 

Solid Waste Collection:  Resident Youth-Laborers year round bi-weekly average not to exceed 28 hours per week. Hours 6 AM till 2 PM and generally working outdoors, Monday through Friday. Knowledge of City streets helpful. Will work with department staff and/or other Resident Youth. Assists with weekly yard waste collection on Mondays and Wednesdays. Deliver, pickup and clean solid waste carts and assist with oversize item collection.

JOB OBJECTIVES:

Under immediate supervision, performs tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of an assigned area while providing the very best customer service in a friendly atmosphere.

 

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

This position has responsibility of cooking for events in food service.  A person in this position also assists with the maintenance of food service area and equipment while maintaining a safe and sanitary environment. A person in this position could work in various food and beverage outlets throughout the clubhouse and/or the actual golf course itself.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.

Must have a Motor Vehicle Operator’s license valid in the state of Missouri.

Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

First Aid and CPR/AED Certification.

Excellent customer service skills.

Assists staff with handling difficult situations and makes judgments on how to direct concerns to ensure optimal outcome. Analyzes situations and develops recommendations and/or implementation of reasonable solutions. Assists with developing new procedures to ensure efficient implementation of Rec-Plex programs.

Communicates effectively to answer questions and concerns about new or existing procedures. Operates various equipment related to assigned area. Performs general janitorial duties and maintains inventory of supplies to ensure that equipment, facility and environment operate in a safe and sanitary condition. Performs all work in compliance with established City safety standards. Performs other work as assigned.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must be a US citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.

Must be at least 18 years old.

Must be able to skate.

Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

Must be able to successfully complete training on an ice resurfacer, if assigned.

Lifeguards

The St. Peters Rec-Plex is looking for Lifeguards who are interested in working part-time. We have immediate openings morning and daytime hours between the hours of 5:30 a.m and 3:30 p.m. Training available if needed. Lifeguards are responsible for customer safety and enjoyment while using our aquatic facilities. Salary: $7.25/hr. plus shift premium of 50 cents for daytime hours Monday through Friday 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Labor Day and Memorial Day.
