Blue Bag Recycling Program
The Blue Bag program is St. Peters’ automated curbside recycling system. The Blue Bag program makes it easy to discard recyclables. Just put paper items and cardboard in one Blue Bag and put all containers (plastic, glass, tin cans, aluminum, etc.) in another Blue Bag. When either bag becomes full, it should be double-tied shut and placed inside your city trash cart/dumpster. City Solid Waste vehicles will empty the carts/dumpsters and the contents taken to Recycle City to be sorted.
What to Include in Your Blue Bags

- newspapers (with inserts)
- magazines
- telephone books
- computer paper*
- junk mail*
- brown grocery bags
- small pieces of cardboard and pressed fiber (such as cereal boxes, shoe boxes, clean pizza boxes, tissue boxes)**
*It is preferred that all office paper, mixed paper (no food wrap) and junk mail first be placed into a brown paper bag and then put inside the blue bag (this helps to sort the recyclables faster).
