The photographers for this special upcoming exhibit at St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre will be among 100 homeless members of the community, equipped with 100 cameras for the week and one mission—to tell their story from the street.

Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Service launched In Plain Sight–Homelessness Exposed to create awareness for the growing concern over poverty in St. Charles, Lincoln and Warren county communities. Designed to put a face on the harsh realities of poverty, the project enlisted the help of homeless individuals to become a part of the solution by telling their stories through the lens of a camera.

Participants were given cameras for a week to document their stories, and then the cameras were collected and participants received backpacks filled with supplies of basic need items and gift cards for food.

The top 20 photographs selected by a panel of judges will be exhibited from June 29-Aug. 20, 2017, at St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre, located in the west side of St. Peters City Hall, One St. Peters Centre Blvd., St. Peters, MO.
