Workers have started to relocate utilities at Mexico Road and Salt Lick Road as the City of St. Peters prepares for an improvement project at the intersection. AmerenUE, Laclede Gas, CenturyLink, Charter Communications and Missouri American Water will relocate their facilities in the intersection over the next 45 days.
Drivers are asked to drive carefully through this intersection during utility work. Most work will take place weekdays after 7:30 a.m. and end before the afternoon rush hour.
Be aware that traffic delays are expected on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, when AmerenUE is scheduled to perform utility work in the center of Mexico Road in this area. Avoid the intersection if possible.
The Mexico Road and Salt Lick Road Intersection Improvement Project will add new right-turn lanes on Mexico Road east of Salt Lick Road and on Salt Lick Road north of Mexico Road. The project will include signal upgrades, new sidewalks and ADA improvements. Road construction is expected to begin in mid-April.
