Lawn Mowing Assistance Available for Some St. Peters Residents

Several St. Peters homeowners who fall within certain physical limitation and income guidelines will be eligible to have their lawns mowed for them up to seven times this year under the City’s Lawn Mowing Assistance Program. The goal of the program is to improve the livability and appearance of homes in St. Peters.

To be eligible for the St. Peters Lawn Mowing Program, everyone living in the home must be at least 62 years old or severely disabled. Proof of income and disability is required. The maximum household income based on 2011 federal taxes must not exceed: $ 24,650 (1 person); $ 28,200 (2 people); $ 31,700 (3 people); $ 35,200 (4 people).

Applications for the program will be available beginning Monday, Feb. 11. For more information on this program or to print an application, visit the City's web site at stpetersmo.net. From the home page, click on Select a Department and choose CDBG Programs. Scroll down and click on Lawn Mowing Assistance.

You may also request that an application be mailed to you by calling 636.279.8279 and follow the prompts for Lawn Mowing Assistance. When calling, be sure to spell your name and street address and leave a contact phone number. Completed applications must be returned on or before 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22.

The City received Community Development Block Grant funds for this program from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Funds will be dispersed based on lowest income first.
